Great Horned Owlet

The beginning of 2026 was incredibly lucky. Just a few minutes’ drive from my home, a Great Horned Owl set up a nest. The mother was usually tucked deep in dense branches, carefully watching over her young one. The father was usually out hunting, returning from time to time with a snack for the owlet. I was able to follow these young parents for a couple of weeks and observe how the little one grew—from fledging until the day all of them finally flew away.
