American Mink

This American mink popped up right in front of me and successfully caught an Eastern Meadow Vole. Before moving on, it stood up tall in the grass for a brief moment, completely unfazed. An incredible wildlife encounter!
Interesting Fact: While they appear to be small terrestrial mammals, American minks are semi-aquatic. They have partially webbed feet, making them exceptional swimmers capable of diving several meters deep and even hunting under ice.
