White-tailed Deer

Scouting through the forest to look for birds, I suddenly spotted a small white-tailed deer fawn. It was completely frozen, trying not to be detected. I turned my head in a different direction, sat down for a while, and got my camera ready. The little one was so confident in its camouflage that it actually started moving in my direction, checking to see if I would spot it—sometimes even playfully bounding with curiosity. That was, without a doubt, the most adorable wildlife encounter I’ve ever had with wild deer.
